ICC Cricket World Cup 2007

The West Indian Cricket Team, popualry referred to as The Windies, is the national cricket team of the English-speaking Caribbean nations. The West Indian side dominated cricket scene throughout the 1970's and 1980's, but today it's struggling to regain its lost glory. The team won the first two editions of the ICC World Cup in 1975 and 1979, and lost to India in the 1983 World Cup final in a low scoring match.

West Indies will host the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2007, which would be biggest cricket event the world has ever seen. The host team is placed in Group D in the ICC team groupings, along with Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Ireland. West Indies will play its first warm-up match against Kenya on March 05, 2007 in the Trelawny Stadium in Jamaica. The team will also play in the opening match of the ICC World Cup 2007 against Pakistan on March 13, 2007 in Sabina Park, Jamaica.
